The “Mircea Cantacuzino” School of Aviation
The “Mircea Cantacuzino” School of Aviation was originally an informal entity, as from 1 June 1930 to work as an association, created in 1928 by Mircea Cantacuzino and other aviation enthusiasts in order to develop an institutional platform ment tp promote air tourism in Romania.
The school operated until 1940, and ended its activity when Romania entered the Second World War. All School graduates were mobilized, most becoming martyrs of air fronts from the Nistru and the Carpathians.
Even if he had a short life, this initiative remains a landmark in the history of tourism aviation in Romania undeniable providing examples of pioneering, courage, initiative, innovation and trust in a better world.
